HARMONIC RIMAC

RÍMAC (TALLER VIII)

Rímac Multíarmónico starts from an intentional urban study of a district of the city and then produces the design of a restored apple, which links the variables of density work, historical heritage buildings, the restoration of the market of Limoncillo (1820) and the urbanistic.

This project started as a big group project, that later was separated for competition. The last group, a 2 students group; was made with Maria Fernanda Gómez.

    Revalue historically the Lemongrass Market
Combining uses of housing, commerce and offices
Be an engine of movement in the district
    Differentiate public from private spaces.

The redesign of 5 blocks takes into account the densification, existing flows and historical monuments that are already located there. It seeks to regenerate tissues and frames to generate new focuses of attention that integrate the district

In the last stage, a cultural, commercial and office center is proposed in an important block. Elevated streets, buried squares are used; and the Limoncillo market is redefined as a botanical garden that reactivates the area and its whereabouts. The facades are retraced towards Tacna Avenue to have a relationship with the appropriate avenue
